Schuyler Iona Press
is a writer, musician, and composer based in New York City. She is an advanced member of the BMI Lehman Engel Musical Theatre Writers Workshop and holds a BFA in Music Composition and Performance from the California Institute of the Arts.
Her music draws from an eclectic mix of influences—from folk and pop to musical theatre and punk—resulting in compositions marked by rich harmonic textures and intricate, expressive guitar work. In addition to performing live, Schuyler has built a growing social media following by sharing original songs that blend storytelling, social satire, and thoughtful cultural commentary. Her distinctive voice, wit, and musicianship have resonated with an enthusiastic and expanding audience.
In May 2026, Schuyler made her solo cabaret debut at 54 Below with Schuyler Iona Press Plays Herself. Following its successful premiere, the show returns for an encore performance on August 10.
She has opened for artists such as Ellis Paul and Loudon Wainwright III and has collaborated with notable Broadway performers and directors, including Michael Greif (Rent, Next to Normal, Dear Evan Hansen).
Schuyler is currently writing The Maker and the Muse, an original musical inspired by the early lives of Patti Smith and Robert Mapplethorpe.
A poet at heart, she finds inspiration in everyday life and continues to grow as a writer, musician, educator, and humanitarian.
